FACT: 90’s R&B is my favorite era in music.
This past Saturday Project Level San Francisco and 1015 digital hosted Breakfast Club Live with Angela Yee. Where Kayla (OfficialKaymezo) sat down with Angela to discuss her start in the industry, how’s it feel to be a leading lady in a male dominated industry, different ventures she has her hands in, as well as a few of her favorite moments and guests on The Breakfast Club. Sitting in on this interview, I gained a few gems from the leading lady on the #1 radio show in America here’s a few!
I had been anticipating So Aquarius since the day it was announced back in December. There was no doubt I was going it was the ultimate R&B lovers lineup infused with Hip-Hop. This line up literally gave you every type of R&B dipping sauce you could possibly need from Neo-Soul (Erykah Badu), New Age (The Internet & Jhene Aiko), 90’s (R.Kelly, Mya, Monica, and Brandy), as well as Pretty Ricky and just nods to artist that influenced an era in music (90’s/00’s).
The month of February is one of my favorites it encompasses so many different aspects that I love and part of my identity. To start off, Valentine’s Day when everything in the stores become bright pink and red. You begin to start finding heart shaped EVERYTHING and chocolate can be found literally everywhere. A Girls Dream. Even if you don’t have a Bae to celebrate with this is the month to spread love . On top of that, it’s Black History Month when we get to celebrate all things black excellence and lastly what screams black excellence more than the biggest night in music, The Grammy Awards season.
